Medical Explorers and Health Career Clubs

The mission of the Medical Explorers and Health Career Clubs is to provide a forum for middle and high school students to learn about the exciting world of health care, interact with other students who are interested in health careers and have face-to-face interactions with leaders in the health care industry.

Students receive guidance and direction in how they can achieve their goals. Guest speakers from a variety of health care positions describe their careers, and students often are able to visit work sites related to the speaker’s field, such as a rehabilitation center, geriatric center, pediatrics department, blood center, etc.

Medical Explorers is based at Marquette and open to high school students from targeted Milwaukee area schools. The Health Career Clubs meet at targeted Milwaukee-area middle and high schools. Both programs meet monthly, and there are no GPA requirements for participation. If you would like to start a club at your school, please ask your science teacher or counselor to contact Marquette’s Health Careers Opportunity Program office.
