In its second national report card on sustainability efforts, the National Wildlife Federation recognized Marquette University for sustainability efforts in five categories, the most categories of any school in Wisconsin.
Marquette was one of 334 colleges and universities cited by the NWF based on a national survey which judged schools in 18 different categories.
The five categories Marquette is recognized in are: energy efficiency, conservation and renewable energy; more than 80 percent of energy from off campus renewable; plans to do more with transportation programs; recycling, solid waste and materials flow; and plans to do more with green landscaping and grounds.
