Marquette Interchange Update as of May 12, 2008
Eastbound Clybourn is closed at 16th Street until mid June. Local/university only access between 16th and 11th Streets. Eastbound Clybourn detoured north on 16th Street to Wisconsin Avenue.
Clybourn between Plankinton and 5th Street is closed.
Traffic is severely restricted on Blue Mound Road, west of Moreland Road. The state is repaving this roadway, and traffic is likely to be restricted until late Fall of 2008.
MMSD work is restricting traffic on Wisconsin Avenue from 90th to 95th Streets. This is a short-term project and should be complete by May 21.
Westbound Michigan Streetis closed at 8th Street.
To enter Lot-R/RR, behind Straz Tower and the Rec Plex, detour south on 8th Street; west on McCauley; north on 9th Street. Exiting this lot, you may only turn left onto eastbound Michigan Street. Through traffic on westbound Michigan is detoured north at 8th Street to Wisconsin Avenue.
Clybourn Street, between Plankinton and 5th Streets, is closed in both directions for utility and paving work. It will remain closed until Aug. 1. There will be lane reductions east and west of the closed area. At various times during this period, one or two of the cross-streets will also be closed between Clybourn and St Paul.
The Kilbourn Bridge over the Milwaukee River is open.
MMSD sewer work will affect traffic on several downtown streets for the next several years. Work is currently in progress, restricting traffic at the following locations: Water and Bruce; Wells, east of Plankinton; and St. Paul, east of Plankinton.
The Tory Hill pedestrian route is closed, due to overhead work on the new bridges. Do not use this route as it is an active work zone and is unsafe for pedestrians.
Pedestrian access across Clybournat 13th Street is closed and will remain so until later in the project. Do not use this route; it is an active work zone and is unsafe for pedestrians!
