Joseph J. Rauenhorst Joseph J. Rauenhorst, Arts ’78, was elected to the Marquette University Board of Trustees in 2000.

He is president and founder of Bay Court, Inc. in Boca Raton, Florida. Bay Court, Inc. is a real estate investment and development company active in the development of retail, industrial, and charter schools in Florida. 

Mr. Rauenhorst is the past chief executive officer of Opus South Corporation, where he managed all real estate development, design and construction operations of six offices throughout the Southeast.

He began his career as a trial attorney and became a partner in the law firm of Burditt, Bowles & Radizius in San Francisco. He joined the Opus Group in 1989 in the general counsel’s office in Minneapolis, and then served as general counsel of Opus Investments before moving into management at Opus North, where he ultimately became president. In 1995 he started Opus East in Washington, D.C., and then moved to Boca Raton, Florida in 2002 to take over the operations of Opus South.

Mr. Rauenhorst earned his Juris Doctorate at the University of San Francisco and his bachelor of arts degree from Marquette. He is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization, the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, the Urban Land Institute and the State Bars of California and Minnesota.

He is chairman of the board of directors of the Rauenhorst Family Office, Adler Management, LLC, and on the board of directors of the Gerald and Henrietta Rauenhorst Family Foundation, Cristo Rey Network, Green Cay Asset Management, the J&L Foundation and the Opus Foundation.  He is a member of the Marquette University 1881 Society.
