Rev. Thomas H. Tobin, S.J.Rev. Thomas H. Tobin, S.J., was elected to the Marquette University Board of Trustees in 1998.

He is a professor of theology at Loyola University of Chicago.

He entered the Society of Jesus in 1964 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1973.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in classical languages and English literature from Xavier University, a master’s degree in theology from Loyola University of Chicago, and a doctoral degree in New Testament and Christian origins from Harvard University.

He also studied rabbinic literature at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He has written five books and a number of scholarly articles.
