College Success Workshops

OSES offers group and individual sessions on a variety of college success strategies. Each workshop is interactive and begins with an assessment of participant's study skills.

Workshops have included the following topics:

Test-taking Strategies for Science and Math Courses

Topics covered in this workshop include practice with different types of objective tests and overall strategies to improve test-taking skills in technical courses.

Study Skills Workshops for Mid-terms/Finals

Designed to prepare students for mid-term and final exams, topics include tips to improve textbook reading and note taking as well as developing strategies for mastering essay exams.

Time Management Workshops

Included are concentration techniques, tips for overcoming procrastination, and systems for effectively organizing college study time.

Overcoming Test Anxiety/Stress Management

To battle the anxiety and stress caused by preparing for exams, we offer a special workshop to provide strategies for Overcoming Test Anxiety/Stress Management.

Specialized Program Offerings

In addition to the workshops described above, students can request specialized programs tailored to address their specific study needs or interests.
