As of October 2003, the Universitaire Faculteien Sint-Ignatius Antwerpen and two other universities, RUCA and UIA, became part of the University of Antwerp. UFSIA’s campus is located in the historic center of the city, an approximately
15-minute walk from the Central Station. The University of Antwerp has approximately 10,000 students, and more than 1,000 of them are from foreign countries, with a majority coming from EU countries (exchange students not included).
Campus facilities
Restaurants: The university has numerous cafeterias that offer meals at reasonable prices.
ICT facilities: Every campus has free use of PCs for word processing and the Internet.
Libraries: Each university has its own library with an interlibrary loan system so students can access records from all. These libraries have Internet computers that can be used for a small fee.
ESN — The Erasmus Student Network is very active in Antwerp, offering regular cultural and social programs and organizing gatherings and various activities for international students.
UNIFAC — This umbrella student association of the Stadscampus-University in Antwerp informs students about current university events and activities (e.g., Night of the Movie, Christmas @ UFSIA, UNIFAC city trip, etc.)
Sports council — The sports council organizes a wide assortment of intramural competitions, including indoor soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton and table tennis. The required membership card is available for 6 euros. Additionally, classes are offered in aerobics, condition training and many other sports.
