The transcript(s) for your semester(s) abroad should
be sent to the Registrar’s Office one to three
months after you finished your final exams. After the Registrar’s
Office has processed the transcript, your college will determine how
the credits will be accepted (usually based on your study abroad course
approval form).
You can check on the status of your courses and credits through Checkmarq by following the steps below. If you do not see courses posted in Checkmarq and want to check the status of your credit transfer, your next step should be to call the Office of the Registrar to find out if your transcripts have been received. If so, please contact the Records Office in your college to find out whether Marquette equivalents have been posted.
For Madrid, South Africa, or Xalapa Program participants:
- Select the Student Self-Service tab in your Checkmarq account
- Under "View my grades," choose "View my final grades"
- Select the term in which you studied abroad
For all other program participants:
- Select the Student Self-Service tab in your Checkmarq account
- Under "View my grades," choose "View my transfer/test credit report" (NOT "View my final grades")
- Select the term in which you studied abroad to view your transfer courses and credits.
Please Note: Transfer credit will NOT be granted for a course if you
earned below a “C” or
if you took it pass/fail.
Schedule an appointment with your advisor
to discuss your transcript and schedule. This is important to make
sure you are on track for graduation and that you are taking the necessary
required courses.
Ensure that Student Health Services has an accurate, up to date record of your immunizations, and that you have completed your TB screening. The Immunization History/TB Screening Form is available online at: http://www.marquette.edu/shs/forms.
Because of the prevalence of infectious disease in some foreign countries, students studying abroad are expected to ensure they are in compliance with the University Immunization policy. Not doing so can result in a hold placed on registration. This policy requires all newly admitted, readmitted, and study abroad students to provide proof of immunizations, complete a medical history form and a screening instrument for tuberculosis. The immunizations required are those for MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Varicella (chickenpox) and Tetanus/Diphtheria. This policy was implemented in the interest of keeping students healthier and creating a healthy campus community at large.
Questions about this policy and how it affects you can be directed to: immunizations@marquette.edu, or by calling Student Health at 288-7184.
