Macquarie University is a modern, sophisticated institution recognized for its innovative programs, academic achievement and high quality research. It is located in one of the most attractive and affluent areas in Sydney. The campus is surrounded by a major technology precinct and bushland areas including Lane Cove National Park. The location also offers a good transportation system that makes it easy to get to the university from the city center, either by train or bus.
The University's student body of 25,000 includes 5,100 international students. Students can take classes in areas of study such as Business, Politics and International Relations, Education, Media and Communication, and Anthropology, just to name few. There is also an internship program open to international students who wish to acquire credits for a non-paid internship in Sydney.
Macquarie University offers exchange students the following services and facilities
- International Office: The study abroad office, known by the acronym SAM (Study Abroad Macquarie) coordinates airport reception services and orientation programs for exchange students. It also organizes social events during the academic year and publishs a newsletter to keep in touch with students.
- Library: Houses a collection of more than one million books and periodicals and an extensive collection of multimedia. The catalog is accessible through the 40 terminals located throughout the library.
- Computing Services: There are various terminal computer laboratories located across the campus.
- Student Union: The union provides catering services, common rooms, recreational facilities, word-processing center, restaurants and other services.
- Sports Association: Macquarie University Sports Association (MUSA) has more than 30 clubs that cover activities such as badminton, squash, netball, tennis, gymnasium, weight-training, golf, etc.

Marquette’s Grading Scale is different from the Grading Scale used at the Macquarie University. Students will transfer credits back to Marquette for those classes where the student received a P or higher.
