SUSTAINABILITY BY SODEXO

Sodexo Alliance places great importance on growing its business in a socially responsible and environmentally sustainable way in every country in which they do business, and adheres to both the UN Global Compact and the Global Sullivan Principles.

Global Compact is a contract between the United Nations and the international business community to advance 10 universal principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption.

The Global Sullivan Principles of Social Responsibility is a voluntary code of conduct built on a vision of advancing the goals of human rights, social justice, and economic opportunity.

On Campus, Sodexo purchases limited organics from Sysco Food Service, Sysco in turn has programs set up with local farms and orchards to compliment their national purchasing programs. All dairy products are purchased through Kemps dairy a local Wisconsin dairy. Sodexo uses a vegetable vendor with Loffredo as the main produce supplier who in turn is a local company and uses local growers, farms and orchards for products
Fair Trade coffee is purchased from Stone Creek Roasters (click her e for Stone Creek Coffee information) is a locally owned distributor that produces organic roast  coffees and specialist teas. Since August of 2006, eighty-seven percent of the coffee purchased is either fair trade or socially conscious coffee.  Additionally, in the last academic year more than 1,000 reusable travel mugs were distributed and refilled more than 10,000 times.
