CELEBRATING ALUMNI VOLUNTEERISM
Thank you, fellow alumni.
Excellence at Marquette doesn’t just happen; it’s achieved through the hard work and dedication of many people, including alumni in places all over the world.
Through this special edition of our national newsletter, we want to thank you, while honoring and showcasing some of Marquette’s amazing alumni who play a key role in the university’s success. We thank those who mentor, participate in service projects, give to scholarships in support of students, participate in regional alumni clubs, and much more.
The list of ways alumni give back is far too long to include here, but I encourage you to visit the alumni website and check out the fun and exciting opportunities to support your alma mater.
We are grateful for you – WE ARE MARQUETTE!

FAITH
August Reflection: Appreciating our alumni volunteers
By Rev. Frederick Zagone, S.J., Chaplain, Marquette University Alumni Association
At Marquette, summer is the time we prepare for another academic year to
begin. Many people have worked very hard to get campus ready for the
arrival of over 2,000 new students later this month. Most noticeable is
the new Wild Commons residence facility, which is under construction and
grows taller each day in preparation to house students next year. Less
obvious are the many plans and projects that take place behind the
scenes. And there is a group of people whose efforts make not only the
everyday life of Marquette a reality, but guarantee the future of
Marquette and our Catholic and Jesuit education for years to come: our
volunteers!
Volunteers for local alumni clubs, interest-based alumni groups and College based groups work throughout the year. They plan and sponsor events. They host gatherings in their homes and places of business. They support Marquette with their time, energy, talents and treasure. We thank God for their efforts and ask God to continue blessing them and their work for Marquette.
We ask God to send blessings on Marquette that future generations will have the opportunities we have had; the education we’ve received; the recognition of God’s presence that we share.
We ask God to bless us as our new year begins. We are Marquette! Amen
