Tips for Students and Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for your interest in the Supper for 12 Strangers program, a Marquette tradition since 1973!

Q. Can I request a specific host?
A. Absolutely! There is a spot on the registration form where you can request a certain host. It would be helpful if you can coordinate and ask your host to request you as a guest too. Just make sure you both request the same Supper date!

Q. I submitted two date choices – when will I know which one I will get?
A. We strive to honor everyone’s first choice, but sometimes we do need to rely on your flexibility and appreciate it if you can include a second choice. Please “pencil in” both dates on your calendar – you will be notified if we have to use your second choice date.

Q. What if my schedule changes and I need to cancel or change my requested Supper date?
A. We understand that things do come up. If you need to cancel or change dates, please email us as soon as possible at muconnect@marquette.edu. For switching dates, the sooner we know, the better the chances that we can make it happen!

Q. I want to register with friends for the same Supper. Are we guaranteed to be assigned together?
A. That’s great! As long as you all request each other when you register (and everyone still registers individually), you will be assigned together. Please note that you may register with up to three friends (groups of four). Unfortunately we cannot guarantee assignments for groups larger than that.

Q. What is the timeline for me to find out my supper date and host?
A. You will receive a confirmation email shortly after submitting your online registration form. Early in the week prior to your Supper, you will receive an email with more details (host information, location, etc.).

Q. What are the deadlines to register to participate?
A. The registration deadline is Wednesday, October 30.

Q. Is transportation provided?
A. If you have a vehicle and are able to drive, you’ll be asked to indicate that on the registration form. If you do not have a car, we will arrange transportation either with other students in your group or from your Supper host.
