Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award

 DR. JAMES H. WANDERSEE, GRAD '78
Baton Rouge, La.

Plants are a bit more vital to James’ existence than the average person. An active member of the Botanical Society of America, he is an award-winning botany education researcher and the W.H. “Bill” LeBlanc Alumni Association Professor at Louisiana State University.

 

Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology Achievement Award

 DR. MARK D. RUSCH, GRAD '78, '84
Waukesha, Wis.

An associate professor and rehabilitation psychologist at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Mark also supervises doctoral students in Marquette’s College of Education, providing challenging and productive training and supervision.

 

Educational Policy and Leadership Achievement Award

 DR. SUZANNE TROTTIER LUNDIN, GRAD '78, '89, '93
Jackson, Wis.

Suzanne didn’t speak English until high school. Then she became fluent in success and had a 34-year career as a Milwaukee Public Schools teacher, counselor, principal, director of the office of board governance and more.

 

Young Alumnus of the Year Award

 DAVID D. EBERT, ARTS '93
Oregon, Wis.

Dave ran track for Marquette. Now he runs numbers for the Oregon, Wis., School District — as a math teacher. He’s also president-elect of the Wisconsin Mathematics Council and a statewide representative and conference program chair.
