Mary
E. Cyrier,
BUS AD '84
From
an early age, Mary Cyrier was taught by her parents the importance
of serving others. It's a lesson that Mary clearly has taken
to heart. When she isn't working as vice president for human
resources at Schwarz Pharma, an international pharmaceutical
business, Mary volunteers her time extensively.
Marquette
and its College of Business Administration benefit in a particular
way from Mary's selfless service. She was a member of the college's
Alumni Association Board from 1997–2005 and served as its
president from 2003–2004. She currently is co-chair of
the association's governance committee and continues to serve
on the human resources and international business advisory board.
She's shared her talents and time on a number of university-wide
initiatives too, including the Association of Marquette University
Women, Alpha Sigma Nu, the reunion committee, Supper for 12 Strangers
and University Ministry.
Mary's affection for her alma
mater clearly runs deep. She says that equally as critical
as the technical skills she mastered at Marquette was the university's
insistence on ethics — another lesson that has stayed with
her for a lifetime. "I am always striving for success but
making sure that I am acting with integrity is the most important," she
says.
