Cecil
Lue-Hing,
ENG '61
 Dr. Cecil Lue-Hing likes to resolve problems and find solutions
that benefit the environment, public health and community. His
passion is certainly evident in his work since graduation.
Throughout
the years, Cecil has served as director of research and development
for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater
Chicago; president of the governing board for the Environmental
and Water
Resources Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers;
and president of the National Association of Clean Water Agencies.
Numerous
universities from around the country have invited Cecil to
lecture, and he educates students as an adjunct professor at
the Illinois
Institute of Technology.
He was appointed by the mayor
of Atlanta to a nine-member independent council on the city’s
Clean Water Plan, and is currently president of Cecil Lue-Hing & Associates,
an environmental engineering consulting firm.
What is
Cecil’s formula for success? “Work hard, play hard
and help others to be successful," he says.
