Hilton
T. Perez,
med tech '82
Dr.
Hilton T. Perez wants everyone living in West Texas to have access
to medical and dental care. His dedication to elevating the standards
of care for those in need rings through in his over 20 years
of health care experience.
Hilton is currently the president
and chief executive officer of Midland Community Healthcare
Services Inc. in Midland, Texas, serving the underserved, underinsured
and uninsured.
“There are many health care challenges
for families living here,” he says. “Many are underinsured
or don’t have health insurance at all. Seventeen counties
have no health care providers or facilities. Patients have to
travel, sometimes hours, for the most basic health care services.”
Under
Hilton’s leadership, Midland Community Healthcare Services
has reached an agreement with the Ronald McDonald House of the
Southwest Inc., to send a mobile health care facility staffed
with medical personnel, called the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile,
to the people of West Texas. “Imagine, a complete clinic
coming to your town to help overcome the obstacles to your family’s
health care,” he says.
Through it all, Hilton hasn’t
forgotten his Wisconsin roots. “My undergraduate experience
at Marquette has been of great value,” he says, “providing
me with a strong base of knowledge to succeed at the executive
level in the health care world.”
