Paul F. Faculjak, PT ’84

Paul Faculjak

“Wheelchairs wear out, but faith lasts eternally.”

These are the words of Paul Faculjak, who combines his physical therapy skills with his strong faith as he volunteers with Joni and Friends, a Christian ministry that serves those affected by disability.

Paul believes Marquette helped “prepare me to become a successful physical therapist while laying the cornerstone of my Christian faith.”

After working 12 years as a clinician, Paul earned a master’s degree in statistics and research methodology. This launched the creation of his own healthcare analytics consulting company, which later led to his current role as quality-institute manager for a large Albuquerque healthcare system.

His career and faith have always been in step. Since 1998, he and his wife Debbie volunteer with Joni and Friends, a ministry that works through churches to serve individuals and families affected by disability. Its international outreach program, “Wheels for the World,” provides wheelchairs to the disabled in developing countries. Not only does Paul collect used wheelchairs, which get refurbished in prisons, he also leads teams of volunteer therapists and mechanics who distribute them in Romania and Peru. Each wheelchair comes with a Bible.

Working to provide mobility for all, Paul is committed “to serving my profession, my community and my Lord.”
