As a small-town boy from Iowa, Ron Georgen was thrilled by Marquette’s urban campus. His college years were a life-changing experience.
“The exposure to professors such as James Robb, Quintin Quade, Frank Klement and Father James Madigan created an opportunity to grow as an individual and to establish a work ethic required for success," says Ron, a former president of the Marquette Univeristy Student Government and the national Alumni Association. "They were great teachers who made you think — about who you were, what was going on in the world around you and where you were going. Marquette helped me answer the question of what I was going to do with my life.”
He has never hesitated to give back, serving in an advisory capacity on the Dean's Advisory Council and sharing his management experiences with countless classes at the College of Business Administration. He is the retired President/CEO of American Appraisal Associates, Inc., Milwaukee, one of the largest independent valuation consulting firms in the world.
Ron and his company were instrumental in supporting Dr. Mark Eppli and the ACRE program in 2004, sponsoring one of six paid internships for minority students in the associated field of commercial real estate. He has also been active in a number of community organizations, including as co-chair of the Education Committee of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, which is working on a strategic plan to improve Milwaukee Public Schools.
