Terry Ann Peterson, Sp ’76, Grad ’95
Believe in your ability to accomplish your goals. That’s Terry Ann Peterson’s motto for success. Considering Terry’s success in her profession and as a volunteer, it seems like good advice.
In her professional life, Terry is the senior customer communications coordinator at American Transmission Company. As part of her personal life, Terry is committed to serving others. Her roles at Marquette currently include membership on the Marquette’s Diederich College of Communication Dean’s Advisory Council and mentoring communication and business administration students. She is a former member of the College of Business Administration Alumni Association’s Board and has assisted with the high-profile Hank Raymonds Scholarship Auction for Marquette athletics and the Women’s Resource Day held in conjunction with the College of Nursing.
Think we’re done? We’re not.
Terry also is a servant within her community. She serves on the board of the Waukesha Women’s Center and chairs the Professional Dimensions’ Charitable Fund Board. She is a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, the National Jesuit Honor Society, and now serves on its board. She is a former board member of the Task Force on Family Violence and the Walker’s Point Youth and Family Center, where she earned recognition as 2007 Board Member Volunteer of the Year.
Terry has co-chaired a fundraiser for PEARLS for Teen Girls Inc. and is police and fire commissioner in Oak Creek, Wis., where she resides. She directs the choir at her parish, St. Mesrob Armenian Church in Racine and is its delegate to the national Diocesan Assembly.
Whew. Any more? Of course.
Terry appreciates Marquette’s contribution to her success. “MU supplemented the commitment of service to others that my family had instilled in me. In addition, my Marquette experience provided me with the skills and the knowledge to enable me to serve others,” she says.
