On the evening of May 8 the
Monaghan Ballroom in the Alumni Memorial Union was
transformed into a Las Vegas lounge and casino.
The event marked the first AMUW Scholarship Dinner, Auction
and Casino Night, following a pre-event Mass at The Chapel
of the Holy Family. Participants wined on “Marquette Martinis,”
dined on pasta and chicken and then gambled and danced until
late into the evening.
High rollers had
an opportunity to participate in a silent auction that included
such items as round-trip airline tickets on Midwest Airlines,
a Dwyane Wade basketball jersey, cooking lessons at Third
Street Pier and much more! The big winners for the evening gathering
the most "Funny Money" were John Schroeder (husband
of Marquette 's own Kate Schroeder) and Barb Bobusch Weir,
Arts '67.
