Great Place to Work
Marquette University was one of five employers with 1,000 or more employees to be
recognized by The Milwaukee Business Journal with a Great Place to Work award.
Marquette was the only educational institution honored in the annual “Great Places to Work” edition that recognized 21 Milwaukee-area companies. The university was nominated by Helen Boomsma, director of work force training and development in the College of Professional Studies. “Care for the whole person is the mantra of the university. Marquette nourishes the mind by offering abundant educational opportunities,” she wrote in her letter. Final selection was based on employees’ responses to a 39-question survey.
Marquette was singled out for its commitment to mission, tuition remission benefit and generous retirement plan which, the paper said, all contribute to employees’ passion and loyalty.
