Honoring the Little Rock Nine

Marquette will confer the Père Marquette Discovery Award, the university’s highest honor, on the Little Rock Nine, the courageous teenagers who dared to challenge racial segregation in public schools by enrolling at the all-white Central High School in 1957. It is only the fifth time the university has presented the Discovery Award.
