First Year Reading Program

Now in its fourth year, Marquette University's First Year Reading Program, a component of the Manresa Project, aims to provide each class of new Marquette freshmen with a common educationally purposeful experience. This year alumni
are invited to participate as well. Please add Hunger, by Lan Samantha
Chang
, to your summer reading list.

The Manresa Project encourages everyone on campus to read the book and hopes to initiate a number of programs and discussions in the year ahead.

  • Davis, Kincaid receive Way Klingler Fellowships to advance
    humanities and science research

    Dr. John B. Davis, professor of economics and Miles Research Fellow, and Dr. James R. Kincaid,
    professor of chemistry and Pfletschinger Habermann Chair, have received Way Klingler
    Fellowships to advance their research efforts.

Alumnus serves community through Archdiocesan Legal Network

Ray Pushkar

Ray Pushkar, Arts ’60, Law ’63, along with his law firm,
McKenna, Long & Aldridge LLP, was formally presented with a
Volunteer Recognition Award on May 15, 2006, at the Archdiocesan
Legal Network Reception in Washington D.C., for his and his firm’s
longstanding dedication to serving the legal needs of the less fortunate
in the D.C. community.

Marquette student is in the race...

Marquette mechanical engineeering student Jason Taghikani has been selected as one of 20 finalists for the reality TV series, Racin' for a Livin.' Only five drivers will be selected for the show, where they will compete for a 2007 NASCAR Busch Series ride.
