NCAA TOURNAMENT UPDATE

in the post season!

The Marquette men's basketball team will appear in the NCAA Tournament Thursday, March 15, as the No. 8 seed in the East Region, against No. 9 seeded Michigan State in Winston-Salem, N.C. Tip-off is 6:20 p.m. CT.

The Marquette women earned a No. 6 Seed in the NCAA Tournament, and
will play No. 11 seed Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday, March 17, in Austin, TX. Game time is approximately 1:30 p.m. CT.

BusinessWeek ranks Marquette’s business school in top 50

For the second time in as many years, Marquette University's
College of Business Administration placed among the top 50 in
BusinessWeek’s "Best Undergrad B-Schools." The March 9th edition
of the magazine cites Marquette's "focus on ethical and moral
reasoning," as well as its widely popular alumni mentoring program.

McGuire

McGuire makes Final Four appearance


McGuire, Dick Enberg’s one-man play about legendary Marquette basketball coach Al McGuire, will be presented in Atlanta at the Alliance Theatre during the Final Four weekend for three shows only.

  • Terri Mitchell named Big East Coach of the Year
    Head coach Terri Mitchell and two Marquette women's basketball players recently were
    honored by the Big East Conference. Mitchell was named Big East Coach of the Year,
    while senior Christina Quaye and sophomore Krystal Ellis were named to the
    All-Big East First Team. Read more

    Eleven of the 40 individuals honored by The Business Journal of Milwaukee’s 2007

  • Marquette honored with TEMPO mentorship award
    Marquette was recently recognized as “Mentor of the Year” by TEMPO-Milwaukee, an
    organization of professional women.
  • Wisconsin’s “Top Cops” visit Law School on March 29
    U.S Attorney Steve Biskupic, Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen and Milwaukee
    County District Attorney John Chisolm will discuss how to keep our streets safe with
    Mike Gousha, distinguished fellow in law and public policy. The event is the latest in a
    series of high-profile speakers who have visited the Law School this semester.

  • Student wins prestigious New York Times internship
    Menomonee Falls resident and Marquette University senior Jacqueline Palank is the first
    recipient of the New York Times David E. Rosenbaum Internship Award, named after the
    late reporter and editor in the newspaper’s Washington Bureau. Read more
  • Marquette community saddened by death of Dr. Esther Hudgins

    Dr. Esther Hudgins, Associate Professor of German (emerita) died on January 9, 2007. A
    member of the faculty in the Department of Foreign Languages & Literatures, 1969-1996,
    Dr. Hudgins was also Director of the Marquette Language Center in Germany,
    1972-1995, and was awarded the Marquette University Faculty Award for Teaching
    Excellence, 1982. In her honor, nearly two hundred alumni of the Language Center in
    Germany gathered at Marquette in 1996 to celebrate her career, and established the Dr.
    Esther L. Hudgins Scholarship Fund for Marquette students of German, which is awarded
    annually. Dr. Hudgins is survived by her daughter, Ingrid Angrick, and son-in-law, George
    Angrick.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of the
Holy Family in the Alumni Memorial Union at
6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2007
. A reception
will follow.
