Rev. Robert A. Wild, S.J.Father Wild to be honored by St. Aloysius School in Harlem

Robert A. Wild, S.J., president of Marquette University, will be honored at the school's annual scholarship dinner on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, for his commitment to educating inner-city children.

St. Aloysius School in Harlem offers education to 265 underserved children at great risk of not meeting their potential. St. Aloysius serves youth from ages 2 1/2 to 14, while also providing financial support and services to its alumni in high school. Learn more

  • Buzz Williams, eight alumni named to Milwaukee Business Journal’s "Forty Under 40"
    Nine of the 40 individuals selected by The Business Journal’s 2009 "Forty Under 40," which recognizes young leaders in the Milwaukee area, have Marquette connections. Buzz Williams, men’s basketball coach, was selected along with eight alumni:

  • New communication dean named
    Dr. Lori Bergen has been named dean of the J. William and Mary Diederich College of Communication. She previously served as director of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State University-San Marcos.
  • Marquette to train Teach For America participants
    Teach For America will expand to Milwaukee this fall, bringing 90 top college graduates to teach in the city’s highest-need schools. Marquette has been named a Teach For America university partner and will provide teacher training. Read more
  • Haggerty Museum to offer Current Tendencies exhibit March 12 - June 14
    Current Tendencies: Ten Artists from Wisconsin will present works in diverse mediums by emerging, mid-career and established Wisconsin artists. The featured artists include Jennifer Angus, Peter Bardy, Anne Kingsbury, Colin Matthes, Shana McCaw, Brent Budsberg, T. L. Solien, Sonja Thomsen, George Williams, Jr., and Xiaohong Zhang. For this exhibition, the lower level of the Haggerty Museum will be divided into 10 separate galleries.
