The
East just got bigger!
MARQUETTE
IN
THURSDAY,
OCTOBER 27, 2005
Marquette is embracing
its move to the Big East Conference in more ways than one. Athletically,
we're very excited about competing against such great teams as
Georgetown, Notre Dame and Connecticut. But we're looking forward
to the opportunity to reconnect with our East Coast alumni in
a variety of other ways as well. We want to help our alumni living
on the East Coast to build their careers, connect with one another,
and strengthen the bond they feel with their alma mater.
In the fall, Marquette
will host alumni and friends in Manhattan for
a special speakers' series. Speakers will share their thoughts,
experiences and insights on a variety of topics, including entrepreneurship
and the college admissions process.
Dan Fuss,
Bus Ad '66, is the executive vice president and managing partner
of Loomis Sayles and Company, one of the oldest and largest investment
management firms in America . Prior to joining the firm in 1976
as vice president and managing partner of its institutional department,
Mr. Fuss was a lieutenant (junior grade) in the U.S. Navy and
later became a full lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserve. Mr.
Fuss held vice president positions at Continental Illinois National
Bank & Trust Co., Endowment Management and Research Co. and
The Boston Co. He has also served as a director for various corporations
and organizations.
Marquette's dean of undergraduate
admissions, Roby Blust, will explain the college
admissions process and provide tips on everything you need to
know when you or your child is applying to a college or university.

admissions. He previously held positions as director of admissions
at Loyola University-Chicago, Regis University in Denver and Edgewood
College in Madison, Wis. Dr. Blust will conclude his remarks with
an update on the exciting things that are happening on the Marquette
campus.

have expanded by nearly 400% and now serve over 872,000 students
at over 1,200 colleges and universities. In 1987, Dr. Mitchem
