Presidential search update

Recently the Board of Trustees used input gathered at the 11 listening sessions with Marquette community members, along with their own leadership deliberations, to develop a Presidential Profile detailing the qualifications, characteristics and attributes they would seek in the university's 23rd president.

Using this profile, the search committee is hopeful that they will be able to recommend an outstanding Jesuit to lead Marquette in the years ahead. Read more about the search process online.

based registered investment advisor. He contributes to the firm’s investment team, business operations and client services.

Vivian Marie DrewMatthew T. Drew, Bus Ad ’03, and Megan (Taylor) Drew, Nurs ’03, Grad ’07, welcomed a daughter, Vivian Marie, on April 25. She joins big sister Lucille.

Marquette part of consortium receiving $20 million grant

The National Institutes of Health recently awarded a $20 million grant to a consortium of eight Milwaukee institutions, including Marquette, to create a Milwaukee-wide research partnership committed to advancing biomedical research, patient care and education.

Last month, the Marquette Athletics Department released a redesigned look to its official website, GoMarquette.com, featuring a new video player, audio podcasts, exclusive auctions, interactive downloads and the most comprehensive coverage of every Golden Eagle athletic team.

College of Health Sciences starts new emergency medicine fellowship

The Physician Assistant Studies program has launched a postgraduate fellowship in emergency medicine. The intensive, one-year training program is the first of its kind in Wisconsin and is one of just a handful of such programs in the United States.

The book has garnered mentions in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. Tommy WallsGive Marquette: A new beginning

Just a few years ago, teenager Tommy Walls put his troubled home life behind him in Detroit and came to Milwaukee to live with extended family. The move transformed his life. Now he will be one of six Boys & Girls Clubs of America Youth of the Year winners to start at Marquette this fall. Hear his powerful story.

 

 

College of Nursing heads to Peru

Nine nursing students recently returned from a four-week stay in Piura, Peru, with Dr. Darlene Weis, associate professor emeriti of nursing. The group worked in a local clinic and hospice, assisted in home visits and taught illness prevention to elementary school children, among other activities.
