RECONNECT

Remember the parties, camping out for basketball tickets, study halls and much more? The 2005 Ethnic Alumni Association Reunion was such a great success that we are hosting another special reunion this summer.

The 2007 Ethnic Alumni Association Reunion Weekend is a great occasion to create new good times as you reconnect with friends from the past, catch up on what has been happening on campus, and celebrate where your lives have taken you since joining the proud ranks of MU alumni.

We have much in store for you, making this an event you won't want to miss! Plan on creating new memories while reminiscing about the laughter, tears, cheers and successes achieved over the years.

Thursday, July 26

Welcome Reception and
Ethnic Alumni Association Reunion Registration

3 p.m. – 5 p.m., Ambassador Hotel, 2308 W. Wisconsin Ave.

Check in at the Ambassador lobby to pick up registration information and tickets to reunion events. Light hors d’oeuvres provided. Registration will also be held on Friday and Saturday at the Alumni Memorial Union.

Night of Bowling, Burgers & Fun!

6 p.m. – 9 p.m., Union Sports Annex

The Union Sports Annex is a premier entertainment facility in the heart of the Westowne Business District. The Annex houses 12 lanes and the food is delicious! Please feel free to bring your family. Includes free cosmic bowling (please bring a pair of socks), drink specials and a discounted menu.

Every night of reunion weekend, the Ethnic Alumni Association will host a “hang-out” room at the Ambassador Hotel. Drinks, snacks, playing cards and more will be provided.

 

Friday, July 27

Reunion Registration and Information

Noon – 8 p.m., Alumni Memorial Union, Second Floor

Check in at reunion headquarters and pick up your registration information and tickets for all events. Light refreshments provided.

Yesterday vs. Today: How Marquette’s Diversity Initiatives are

Making a Difference

1 p.m.

Marquette Campus

Join Dr. Keenan Grenell, associate provost for diversity, for a discussion about Marquette’s diversity initiatives, including present and future student programming and outreach.

Reminiscing with Archives

Noon – 6 p.m.

Alumni Memorial Union

Take a trip down memory lane browsing through the university’s collection of Hilltop and Tribune archives, photographs, memorabilia and other treasures from the past 50 years. Take in film footage documenting Marquette’s history — including the 1977 championship game — and be transported to yesteryear.

Round-trip bus transportation provided to all off-campus tours by the Alumni Association.

America’s Black Holocaust Museum

Bus departs at 2:15 p.m. for a 2:30 p.m. tour

Rondell Sheridan, Sp ’80, star of Cory in the House; That’s So Raven; Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus; Cousin Skeeter; America’s Funniest Home Videos and Hollywood Squares

Delicious food will be served until 9 p.m. Cash bar will be provided. Wonderful entertainment included!

After dinner, dance to the decades with DJ Chris Levy from Milwaukee’s 1290 WMCS.

Saturday, July 28

Reunion Registration and Information

If you did not have a chance to previously pick up your reunion materials, please check in for information and tickets to events.

Run or Walk the Marquette Mile or 5K

9 a.m. Alumni Memorial Union, Room 227, rain or shine

Get ready for a brisk walk or run around Marquette’s campus. This one-mile or 5K trek through your old stomping grounds is sure to bring back memories and help energize you for a fun day ahead. Runners for the 5K line up first, followed by one-mile runners, then walkers.

Gather under the tent on Central Mall for this weekend favorite!

Catch up with old friends and faculty. Includes volleyball, pop-a-shot, caricaturist and live music. Food, including a corn roast, available for purchase. Special appearance by comedian Rondell Sheridan, Sp ’80, and singer-songwriter “Mr. Stinky Feet,” otherwise known as Jim Cosgrove. Children and parents are welcome to visit the family activity area sponsored by Marquette’s Krueger Child Care Center.

Monaghan Ballroom

The Ethnic Alumni Association focuses its efforts on the needs of alumni and students of color from Marquette University. The association promotes networking opportunities for alumni and recruiting, mentoring and fund raising for scholarships on behalf of current minority students.

It’s never too early to become part of the Marquette community. While you enjoy your Friday and Saturday evening activities, your children can enjoy pizza, movies, music, puzzles, games, stories and art.

Supervised by Marquette’s Krueger Child Care Center, Kids’ Camp is a safe and fun way for young children to enjoy reunion weekend.
