So you are probably wondering what is in it for you to become

employee of the AMU. Well not only do you get
to make new friends while gaining marketable skills, working for
the AMU even gives you benefits!
Competitive Wages
At the AMU, we strive to be competitive every year with other
student employment options on campus.
Student Employee of the Week/Month
Each AMU employee has the opportunity to become the Employee of
the Week! Nominations are taken each week for AMU student employees
who go above and beyond the call of duty. But receiving
the title isn't the only honor, you also receive recognition on
the main AMU bulletin board and a notice is sent out to the AMU
departments of your amazing job. But wait, the perks don't
stop there. Each Student Employee of the Week is eligible
for the Student Employee of the Month. This person receives
$20 in MarquetteCASH. I don't know about you, but an extra
$20.00 sure comes in handy.
Student Employment Appreciation Week
Held one week in April each year, this event allows AMU
staff to appreciate the time and effort the student workers put
into their jobs. Each day of the week brings a different
freebie to the student workers of the Union. These have
included in the past: free bowling at the Annex, free pool in
the Brooks Lounge, discounts at the Golden Eagle, and other goodies.
A reception is held during the week to help recognize our
student employees of the year in each area. It is a F-U-N
week for all!!
F-U-N Card
In recognition of your dedication to making the AMU F-U-N, the
F-U-N Card is issued to you. This card gives AMU employees
a discount at all AMU Dining Services, the Marquette Spirit Shop, the Brooks
Lounge and the Annex Bowling Center!
Student Employee Training
The AMU offers a mandatory orientation and all staff meeting for
all of its student employees. All staff meetings are held
once a semester and it's a great learning experience for all new
employees, while re-emphasizing AMU policies for returning employees.
Each training session has a main interactive activity to get
each employee involved while learning more about the different
areas of the AMU. The Student Manager team tries each year to
entertain and inform in a creative manner.
FISH Philosophy
At the Alumni Memorial Union, we believe a happy employee
is an effective employee. As part of our training process,
all employees, whether students, staff, or administrators, are
