Looking back on the 2009 fall semester and the AMU
It's hard to believe the fall semester of the 2009-2010 academic year is already behind us. The Alumni Memorial Union has been a central location for a number of university programs and events this past semester, not to mention a popular place for students to meet up, socialize and study.
Check out some of the AMU operations fun facts and accomplishments from the 2009 fall semester:
- 1,520,283 people visited the Alumni Memorial Union since the start of the school year
- 76, 575 guests have come down to the Annex (16th & Wells) to enjoy the new WOW Cafe & Wingery restaurant concept, take part in programming events such as Annex Bingo and Annex Team Trivia, or to bowl a game or two
- New electrical outlets were added in to Brooks Lounge (AMU 1st floor) and the AMU 2nd floor lobby to accomodate student needs
- The Annex Facebook site had a 118% increase in their fan base over last year and an Annex Twitter site (@MUannex) was introduced in late August
- A total of 137,373 meal exchanges took place in Marquette Place
- Nearly 34,000 cups of coffee were served across all five Brew locations on campus
- The AMU hosted 5,300 events with 2,622 of them being catered
