The Varsity Theatre Completes Renovation Process
The Varsity Theatre renovation process has been completed just in time to debut for the start of the fall semester. The final seating count is 724 seats on the main floor and 351 seats in the balcony for a total of 1,075 available seats in the entire theatre. There is a mix of 251 right-handed tablet arms and 50 left-handed tablet arms attached to the main floor seats.
The Varsity Theatre began its third and final phase of renovation right after the 2009 commencement weekend. During this phase, the lobby and theatre will be painted and new carpeting will be put in place. The theatre will also receive new comfortable seating. All renovations will enhance the already existing Art Deco style while giving it upgraded look.
