The Seventeenth Biennial International Conference of the APS Topical Group on Shock Compression of Condensed Matter will be held at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel, Chicago, Illinois, from June 26th through July 1st, 2011. The purpose of this conference, as with earlier conferences in this series, will be to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and technical information for scientists and engineers studying the physics, chemistry, mechanics, and materials science of condensed matter at high pressures. In addition to the oral and poster presentations, a refereed Proceedings will archive the science presented at this conference as with the previous conferences in this series.
The conference registration fee for APS members and non-members includes a ticket to the banquet on Thursday night, a bound copy of the conference proceedings, a ticket to the reception Sunday night, the poster session reception, a continental breakfast each morning of the conference, and the conference bag. The conference proceedings will be mailed to the participants after the conference. The registration fee for students includes everything listed above except the reception Sunday night. The APS tour on Tuesday and conference outing on Wednesday must be registered for and paid for separately.
