Incoming Freshmen: Honors Program Orientation
If you have accepted your offer of admission to the Honors Program, you will receive information in the spring about academic advising and registration for the fall semester. You will also receive material from the Office of Admissions concerning the Preview program that will be held at Marquette in June. This program is designed to orient you to the University and to help you prepare for course registration, which takes place in July. Incoming freshmen are strongly encouraged to attend Preview – it affords you the opportunity to meet with the Honors Program Director, Anthony Peressini, to discuss the first semester of classes at Marquette.

Honors Program Housing
First-year Honors Program students have the option (but are not required) to live on the honors floor in Straz Tower. You can include Straz Tower among your housing preferences on the residence hall application that was enclosed with your original letter of admission. The residence hall application is due along with your enrollment deposit by May 1, 2008. Housing assignments are determined in a lottery drawing held in May. If you have already submitted your residence hall application and now wish to include Straz Tower among your preferences, please email this request to our Office of Residence Life at ORL@marquette.edu.

Please note: Each year the number of honors students accepted into Straz Tower is dependent on the number of requests the Office of Residence Life receives. Listing other residence hall alternatives on your application will not jeopardize your chances of getting into Straz Tower. Residence Life recommends you complete the application, noting all your preferences.  It is rare that an Honors
student is bumped from Straz but it has happened. There have also been years they struggle to fill it. Once all the requests are in, the housing assignments are done through a lottery system.
