Dr. Richard Jones
Department of Social and Cultural Sciences

Dr. Jones is a Sociologist who explores how one's life experience helps shape one's identity and ability to define and respond to the problems of everyday life.  In examining lived experience, he has investigated life in prison, life after release from prison, the experiences of international graduate students as well as students of color at a predominantly white university. He is currently studying former professional football players after they have completed their careers in football.  A devout sports fanatic, he has played, coached, refereed and been seen on the sidelines watching his children participate in a variety of sports.  He is currently the Faculty Athletics Representative at Marquette University.
