Dr. Germán Carrillo
Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures

Dr. Carrillo's fields are 20th and 21st century Spanish America and some areas of Peninsular literatures. More recently he has been involved with Spanish Business courses in Spanish for the Professions. He enjoys teaching  courses on culture, business Spanish, poetry ( Nobel prize winners, Avant-garde movements), the novel and special topics for Senior seminars such as the Detective narrative, the Representation of the dictator in Hispanic literature, etc. He has taught I2I for many years and continues enjoying advising freshmen as well as majors.

For the last 11 years he has been the National President of Sigma Delta Pi, the Spanish Collegiate Honor Society with 582 chapters in U.S colleges and universities. His Gamma Gamma chapter is involved in extensive voluntary community services. He enjoys attending and participating in (Spanish) literary conferences, traveling, long walks, bike rides and international cinema.
