Our internship program, Launch, connects Milwaukee area employers with Marquette University undergraduate biology students. These internships provide real-world experience where students can apply what they learn in the classroom to future career options. Students who successfully complete 140 internship hours can enroll in a 3-credit elective course that counts toward their degree. Students must have completed or be concurantly participating in an approved internship in order to register for BIOL 4987: Applying the Internship Experience.
Follow the application instructions to submit your application, unofficial university transcript, and resume. Submit job specific cover letters for all of the companies/agencies to which you are applying. Students who meet program and position requirements will have their applications forwarded to the employer for review. Employers will select candidates to interview for positions available at their company/agency. Applicants are not guaranteed an interview nor are they guaranteed to be offered an internship.
Students are also encouraged to apply directly to internships not affiliated with the Launch Program. The Launch Program does not formally match for these external positions, but they may be considered for Launch program credit. In order for these external internships to be considered for Launch Program credit, an official application must be submitted and approved prior to the start of the internship. External internships will NOT be considered retroactively for Launch Program credit.
