BBC website.   In addition to a description of the events, it also contains video reports by two BBC correspondents as well as eye witness accounts of the tragic event.

United Kingdom Parliament website.   It contains the transcripts of the debate in the parliament on the sinking.

 International Maritime Organization (imo) website.   The site talks of the ISM code that is now in place after for the safety maintenance of ships after the HFE disaster.

The University of South Australia website.   It contains a detailed study of the accident and the corporate social policies responsible for such a tragedy.
