Two forms of business continuity are in place to resume the operations of Marquette. The Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Business Continuity Annex (Excel) are for department level planning. These resources outline recovery procedures that are specific to individual offices or divisions.
The second form of continuity planning is the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP). Intended for larger scale recoveries, the COOP is the university's all-encompassing plan. Within the COOP, resumption priorities are based on the mission essential functions of the university as a whole. Primary mission essential functions are human necessities, such as safety, food, and shelter. These functions are followed by the reestablishment of essential offices that perform mission essential functions for the student and staff of the university.
While a COOP is designed for sizable continuity events, sections of the plan are also useful to departments exercising their BCP during smaller events. The COOP offers Service Lending Agreements, structure and safety tips, and emergency vendor recommendations.
