Permission to Enroll in a Closed Class

College Policy on requesting enrollment into a closed business class:

Marquette University has implemented a wait list option for enrollment in courses, and the College of Business Administration utilizes wait lists for most courses.  If a class does not appear "open" when attempting to register, please add yourself to the wait list to ensure movement into the course when space becomes available.  If the wait list is full, check back throughout the coming months in case space in the class and wait list become available.

Information from the university on wait lists: Frequently asked questions and guide

Consent to register for a course/section offered by the College of Business Administration that is full may be granted if you have a compelling reason.  For example, if you are graduating next term and a required finance class is offered at the same time as a required Spanish minor class.  Simply wanting to take a course one semester, when it can easily be taken later or preferring a certain instructor or a particular time or a preferred elective is not sufficient.  You must show, for example, that without a certain course at this point in your degree program your graduation will be delayed or that health or personal reasons make special consent necessary.  Your reasons, of course, must be backed up with appropriate documentation.

If you are unable to gain access to a course via the wait list please follow the following procedures:

  • For Summer 2019 courses - Please reach out via email to Beth.Krey@marquette.edu and share your contact information, business course details, and reason for needing access.
  • For Fall 2019 courses - Please continue to watch CheckMarq through the enrollment period and throughout the summer.  An opportunity to request access for closed courses will become available in August for those who were not able to register for the course.
