The Marquette University Center for Electronic Learning (MUCEL) provides leadership, expertise, and creative solutions to the development and delivery of on-line courses. In addition, the Center trains educators and business professionals in course development and design for web-based learning using course management systems such as Blackboard.

The philosophy of the Marquette University Center for Electronic Learning is to focus on the unique needs and wants of each learner. These needs and wants are specifically recognized with a tailored learning environment that allows individuals to achieve more and excel in their field. Our programs place psychological needs, learning styles, and collaborative learning at the core of the educational experience by featuring three distinct characteristics: performance-based learning, diverse instructional strategies using media and technology, and structured student support.

We adapt daily to new, different or changing requirements. We design learning experiences to adjust to the rapidly changing world effectively and efficiently by placing the learner in the center of the educational experience. And, when our experience with a number of emerging communications technologies is coupled with this "students first" focus, the student, not the teacher or administrator, becomes the center of our carefully designed courses.
