Chemistry faculty member wins prestigious "young scholar" award

Dr. Qadir Timerghazin's research is currently funded through the National Science Foundation's CAREER award and involves computational investigation of biological reactions of S-nitrosothiols and the mechanisms of the enzymatic control of these reactions. The Way Klingler Young Scholar Award will allow him and his research group to continue their research in this area.

Timerghazin was one of four Marquette University Way Klingler Young Scholar Awardees. This award supports promising faculty in critical stages of their careers. The awards are intended to fund $2,000 in research costs and cover salary up to 50 percent to afford the recipient a one-semester sabbatical.
