Dr. Ghasemzadeh received his B.S.
in Chemistry in 1986 and Ph.D. in Neurochemistry in 1990. He was a Research Assistant Professor in Department of Physiology and Neuroscience at Medical University of South Carolina before joining the Department of Biomedical Sciences in 2002. Dr. Ghasemzadeh is the course director for the BISC 160, Molecular Pathology. His research interests are in the areas of cellular and molecular mechanisms of drug abuse and schizophrenia.
Course Information
BISC 160. Molecular Pathology 3 sem. hrs.
Fundamental concepts of cellular and molecular biology will be presented. These concepts will be applied toward understanding the mechanisms of specific human diseases, therapeutic interventions and current research efforts. Offered spring term.
Prereq: BISC 007 and BISC 150 which may be taken concurrently; or BIOL 100 and BISC 150 which may be taken concurrently.
