Professional Experience
08/2008- current Clinical Assistant Professor at Marquette University in Milwaukee to teach various subjects in Medical Technology / Clinical Laboratory Science
09/2004 - 03/2008

scientist at Clarient (formerly ChromaVision) to manage the flow cytometry laboratory for providing services to the biopharmaceutical industries, working closely with the reference lab to introduce advanced flow cytometry assays.

07/2003 - 08/2004

providing clinical services to monitor cellular immunity on patient samples at a CAP-certied lab at UCI; involved in translational researches in signal transduction using flow cytometry and confocal imaging.

04/2000 - 07/2003

cytometry specialist to assist the running of MoFlo high speed sorter, FACScan, and Bio-Rad confocal microscpes in the optical biology core at UCI.

01/1998 - 04/2000

Research Scientist operating FACStar plus at Nexell Therapeutics Inc., responsible for sorter operation and researches leading to development of therapeutic strategies of cancer vaccine using ex-vivo expanded hematopoietic stem cells or dendritic cells. I am also involved in training co-workers to learn flow cytometry.

03/1997 - 01/1998

postdoc trainee in flow cytometry at Children's Hospital of Orange County, responsible for developing flow cytometric protocols to assist research projects, was involved in two projects: one was to study the mechanisms (apoptotic or necrotic) of anti-sense inhibition on Burkitt's lymphoma using flow cytometry, the other was to establish a 3-color flow cytometrical protocol to phenotype the dendritic cells after ex-vivo expansion from cord blood for cancer vaccine project; was also involved in the determination of CD34 from cord blood and peripheral stem cell preparation.
