Current Program Leaders

Ashley Nelson I am a senior at MU majoring in exercise science. I chose to major in exercise science, because the classes gave me important skills necessary in helping make an impact in the rising obesity concern. After graduating, I will be interning at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin working at the Herma Heart Center as well as the NEW Kids program. I hope my knowledge and experience will eventually lead me in creating or furthering an obesity prevention program for children and adults through an area hospital or health center. A master's in public health or exercise physiology remains a goal I hope to also accomplish in the future.

Mary

Mary “Molly” Noonan I am a senior in the College of Health Sciences, working towards my Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. I will be graduating in May 2007. I plan to attend graduate school at University of Illinois at Chicago for my Master's degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology. My career goal is to work in the cardiology and pulmonary medicine departments of a children's hospital as an Exercise Physiologist.

Katherine Kirley

Katherine Kirley I am an Exercise Science major. Originally I wanted to be a physical therapist but now I want to work with overweight kids and their parents helping them to achieve a healthier lifestyle. Eventually I would even like to work with schools on improving health and physical education classes. I'm taking a break from the academic world for a year or so and plan on going back to get my Masters in Public Health.

Lauren Ewalt is a 2006 Marquette graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. During this time she completed her internship at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin through the Herma Heart Center, the 5th ranked pediatric heart center in the country. Lauren worked closely with children and adults with congenital heart disease, playing a role in the preventative health initiatives. Furthermore she is employed as a diagnostic technician, monitoring heart rhythms both at rest and with exercise. Lauren plans on continuing her work at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee where she will earn her Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology while continuing to pursue her interest in pediatric health issues.
