Dr. William Ebben, assistant professor of exercise science, has been honored by the National Strength and Conditioning Association with its Outstanding Young Investigator Award. The award recognizes a researcher who has been in the field for less than seven years and has made noteworthy contributions to applied exercise and sport science. Ebben's research focuses on evaluating plyometric (fast, powerful movement) exercises, magnitude and timing of lower body muscle activation during resistance training, and investigating strength-enhancing effects of contracting some muscles to increase the force of other muscles.
