The Second Annual CHS Biomedical Sciences Summer Research Program Student Research Day was held on Friday August 5, 2005 in the Alumni Memorial Union Ballroom. Students formally presented their research findings to Marquette faculty, students, staff, and administrators during a poster session. Following introductory remarks by Dr. Jack Brooks, Dean of the College of Health Sciences, a keynote address was given by Dr. William Wiener, Vice Provost for Research and Dean of the Graduate School at Marquette University.
Three student research presentation awards were given based on evaluations by faculty mentors. This year’s awardees were Peachy-Mae Piana who worked with Dr. Doug Lobner (1st place), Jessica Keber who worked with Dr. Linda Vaughn (2nd place), and John Dicapo who worked with Dr. Marie Hoeger Bement (3rd place). The session was followed by a luncheon at which certificates and awards were distributed.
