
The 2004 Biomedical Sciences Summer Research Program was an enormous success. More than 20 students applied to the Program. Ten of these students were accepted and worked in the laboratories of eight different mentors in the College of Health Sciences. Nine of the participants were students from the College of Health Sciences at Marquette. The tenth student was from Yale University. The average GPA of the participating students was 3.6.
Program activities included lunchtime seminar series and data discussions, participation in a human brain dissection mini-course, and attendance of a Milwaukee Brewers baseball game. The Program finished on August 6th with an all-day symposium during which students formally presented their research findings to an audience consisting of Marquette University students, faculty, administrators, and staff.
