St. Joan of Arc Chapel top

A note from the director, Mary Sue Callan-Farley

I welcome you as one who arrived only days before you. Perhaps like me, you only spent a short time on campus before deciding that this was the right place for you, the place that would shape your future, the place that would challenge you to go beyond your “comfort zone.” Perhaps like me, you are leaving people and places you have known for a long time and are wondering how you will make new friends, navigate a new city, and abide by a whole new schedule. Even though I have started anew a few times in my life, I must admit that I am just a little nervous; however, I love the promise of a new school year and a new adventure. I hope you do, too!

We will all need encouragement and the good will of colleagues and friends to thrive. Campus Ministry is one of the places you can look for support. Staff and student ministers are remarkable people. We are very excited to welcome you to programs, sacred spaces, and good conversations that you will find all around you. As a campus ministry program at a Catholic, Jesuit university we are inspired to give praise for God’s goodness and motivated to use our gifts in service with others. We are also challenged by the Catholic Jesuit tradition to meet people of all faiths to seek understanding for mutual friendship and benefit. The questions you hold, who you are, and how you know God are important to us. So from wherever you come, I hope you find your way to Campus Ministry. Welcome to the Marquette Community!
