Supreme Court Biographer, USA Today Legal Affairs Reporter (Washington D.C.)
I like the chase of journalism, finding out something first, being where things happen, learning more about everything. I decipher the gobbledygook of government and law for the people whose lives are affected by it. At Marquette, with professors from Arnold to Pehowski to Salsini, I learned that no business is as exciting as the news business. Later, I got a master’s in English lit, then a law degree. They didn’t tempt me away. If the news industry sinks, I’m going down with the ship.
