The 2011 Burleigh Lecture was produced as of our Centennial Seminars series, a live roundtable discussion with nationally known journalists and media professionals in Studio 7. The discussion focused on entertainment versus informative content in mass media. The taping will took place on Thursday, February 24th at 1 pm., with a live stream of the taping broadcast in Johnston Hall 104.

Our panel of experts included: Bill Burleigh, (chairman/retired president and CEO of E.W. Scripps Company), Ben Tracy (CBS news correspondent), Sybril Bennett (Emmy award-winning television news journalist), Quina Burns (Emmy award-winning journalist), Kimberly Schwandt (Emmy award-winning producer, Fox News), Gideon Yago, (writer/former correspondent, MTV News and CBS News), Beratunde Rafiz Thurston (comedian/Director of Digital, the Onion) and Pamela Nettleton (Assistant Professor of Journalism, Diederich College of Communication).
